The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) was founded in the UK in 1968 and now boasts hundreds of member societies both in the UK and World Wide.
Southern Spain is fortunate to have three societies with DFAS de la Frontera being the most recent addition. It was founded in 2005 to meet the needs of those living on, and visiting, the western end of the Costa del Sol. Based close to Sotogrande the society's main catchment area is from Marbella along the coast to La Linea and inland to Casares, Gaucin, and Jimena de la Frontera; the name 'de la Frontera' coming from the border between the reconquering Christian forces of Fernando & Isabel and the crumbling Moorish empire.
DFAS de la Frontera offers members and visitors alike a platform from which to enjoy high standard cultural lectures, trips and events, and to meet and mix with like minded persons.
The season of lectures runs from October through May and includes not just lectures, but special interest days, trips, and events both cultural and social.
Lectures and special interest days are open to both members and non-members. Trips and other events are however normally limited to members only.
