The exhibition and prize giving for this year's Young Artists' Competition
took place at the end of March. The competition was run with the invaluable
help and support of the Ayuntamiento of San Roque and included entries from
six schools within the San Roque catchment area: IES Hosteleria, IES Carlos
Castilla Del Pino, IES Jose Cadalso, IES Mar Del Sur, IES Sierra Almenara,
and Sotogrande International School.
There were two prizes, one sponsored by The Soveriegn Group for €150,
which was decided by members' vote, and the main DFAS de la Frontera
prize of €500. The main prize was judged
by a panel consisting of three distinguished artists: Gines Serran Artist &
Sculptor, Carlos Pacheco Cartoonist, and Nestor Plada Artist - along with
the participating schools' headmasters and art teachers. We are very grateful to
all of them for
agreeing to participate and for giving us their time.
We are also extremely appreciative of all those members who took the time
and trouble to visit the exhibition and/or vote online; the event would not
have been possible without your involvement and support.
The variety and quality of the works submitted made judging the winners
very difficult. If you have any doubt please click
here to see all the
finalists. However, winners were selected and our congratulations goes to
them.
